  • SUMMARY: The MAST program is designed to provide students with financial and educational opportunities to explore science and mathematics education at the middle school and high school levels. This program is open to CSUEB Junior, Senior, and Credential STEM and Liberal Studies majors.  Liberal Studies majors with an interest in teaching elementary school must be interested in teaching Math or Science to qualify.

​The Pond Guy Entrepreneurship and Biology Scholarship

  • AWARD BENEFITS: $1,500
  • SUMMARY: The Pond Guy is proud to help support the next wave of entrepreneurs and biologists through this scholarship. Offered bi-annually, a $1,500 grant will be awarded to qualified students in accredited entrepreneurship or biology programs.

Women's Wildlife Management/Conservation Scholarship 
  • APPLICATION DEADLINE: November. 1, 2024​​
  • AWARD BENEFITS: $5,000
  • SUMMARY: The Women’s Wildlife Conservation Scholarship, established by the NRA Women’s Policies Committee, is a renewable one-year scholarship available to full-time college sophomores, juniors, or seniors who have an interest in the field of wildlife management, forestry, parks or fish and wildlife conservation. To be eligible, applicants must: be a female, undergraduate student in a recognized conservation or environmental-related degree program (i.e. habitat restoration, wildlife biology, conservation) [research projects may be eligible for consideration]; be enrolled as a full-time college sophomore, junior or senior (12 credit hours per semester minimum); and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
    Please note that this scholarship may only be used for tuition and fees, books, room and board, and in some cases, research project materials. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college or university in the name of the student. The student’s ID number and SSN will be required only if selected. This is awarded per semester, for up to two semesters. Applications will be evaluated based upon their knowledge of conservation and/or natural resource issues, and their commitment to becoming a leader in the realm of conservation.

​The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship

  • SUMMARY: The Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program awards full-tuition STEM scholarships to hundreds of rising college freshman, current college students, and current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) civilian employees every year. Funded by the DoD, SMART offers a unique education and workforce development opportunity. During degree pursuit, SMART scholars receive an annual stipend enabling them to focus on their studies. Then, scholars dive into exciting summer internships at world-class DoD facilities during school breaks. Here, they engage in cutting-edge research critical to national defense and receive mentorship from top scientists and engineers, honing their skills and building a solid foundation for their future career. After graduation, scholars are springboarded into a rewarding DoD civilian career. They begin their one-for-one service commitment by directly applying their knowledge and skills to real-world challenges, contributing to the nation's security and technological advancement.

Bushnell Bioinformatic Scholarship

  • SUMMARY: Bioinformatics is an important but under-appreciated field that combines biology with chemistry, computer science, and other sciences. The bioinformatics field plays an important part in studying illness and developing treatments for humans, animals, and plants. In addition to being a vital and impactful field, bioinformatics also comes with a competitive average salary of up to $170,000 per year, making it a lucrative career choice.This scholarship is named after Brian Bushnell, developer of the bioinformatic tools suite BBtools, and aims to help future scientists build the bioinformatic skills required to evaluate large sets of biological data.Any undergraduate students majoring in bioinformatics, computer science, biology, or agriculture and plant sciences may apply for this scholarship..

Golden State Teacher Grant (GTSG) Program
  • APPLICATION DEADLINE: Ongoing
  • ​​AWARD BENEFITS: $20,000
  • SUMMARY: The Golden State Teacher Grant Program (GSTG) encourages students to consider earning a teaching credential and teach in a high-need field, at a priority school, in California for four years, within five years after completing a teacher preparation program. The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) will award one-time Golden State Teacher Grant funds of up to $20,000 to over 4,400 eligible students across California, that are enrolled in a Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) approved teacher preparation program within a California institution of higher education on or after January 1, 2020. Applicants must agree to all terms and conditions of the GSTG program or be required to repay the grant.

Ventana Ocean Conservation Scholarship

  • SUMMARY: Ventana Surfboards & Supplies is committed to being the most environmentally responsible surf company on the planet. They donate a portion of their profits to ocean conservation, and they are passionate about encouraging future generations to help our oceans. The Ventana Ocean Conservation Scholarship seeks to support students who care about ocean conservation and are passionate about making a difference. Undergraduate and graduate students who have completed at least one year of study in a California university are eligible to apply if their major is related to ocean conservation. This includes marine biology, ocean conservation, marine science, environmental science, and the like.
