  • Program Overview: The APPEX Center invites STEM graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to participate in interdisciplinary research focused on understanding the factors that drive pandemic expansion. Interns will contribute to innovative projects examining how human behavior, infrastructure, environment, and technology intersect to influence outbreak dynamics. You'll gain hands-on experience with interdisciplinary pandemic research, training in systems modeling, simulation tools, and AI applications; Participation in professional development workshops and mentoring; collaboration with research teams addressing real-world global health challenges. Fields of Interest Include: Biology, Ecology, Public Health, Epidemiology; Environmental & Earth Sciences; Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Systems, Biomedical); Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science; Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Network Science; Social & Behavioral Sciences (quantitative or systems-focused)
